  • Assuming the books are canon, inside the armor has these receptors that respond to motion. So if you touch them, that part of the armor moves. If I move out my hand in the armor, it moves along with it.
    It's just if the armor is shut off...it becomes a giant of steel...with you trapped in it...unable to move.
